EARTH TEAM PROJECT: SPRING '08
  || METRO HOME

PROJECT OVERVIEW

For over 400 years, people of all ages have been enjoying, puzzling over, studying and retelling the stories that make up the famous plays of William Shakespeare. During this 3rd quarter we are going to find out what the big deal is – and then, we’re going to show everyone else.

Full text of Romeo and Juliet, as well as a modern version of the play, is available at nfs.sparknotes.com/romeojuliet/

HOW THIS WILL HAPPEN
  • After we have made some headway with the play, students will decide to work as an individual or in a pair with someone at the same grade level. This will help with the elective support available.
  • Students will choose a part of the story to retell based on a timeline of events from class.
  • Students are free to choose the medium used to retell the story. Note that you will receive elective class support if you choose to work in one of those mediums.
  • Everyone, however, will be expected to work on their retelling product on their own time. This will not be extra work! Work on the piece of the story will be a regular part of homework.
  • Students can expect to make a public proposal for their project idea as well as several public check-ins to make certain everyone is making adequate progress towards completion.
