Apply to 9th Grade
Please note that Metro is a charter school and has a separate application than SFUSD. You must submit this application directly to Metro.
There are several ways to apply to Metro:
- Submit an online application.
- Download the paper application.
- Visit the school to complete a paper application.

What happens after I apply?
Your completed application will be placed in a “pool” along with all other applications submitted before the deadline. If the number of applications received exceeds the number of spaces in the 9th grade class, we will hold a public random drawing (lottery) to determine admission. Students who are not selected in the lottery will be placed on the Wait List. Students who are selected and offered a space will have approximately one month to notify us in writing if they wish to attend. Any spaces that remain after this time will be offered to students on the Wait List.
